💎 5 Tweet Tuesday 💎
My favorite 5 tweets of the week. Let’s dive in:
#1 💎
"People are strange: they are constantly angered by trivial things, but on a major matter like totally wasting their lives, they hardly seem to notice." – Charles Bukowski

Damn.
Putting this tweet first is like a waiter coming over to your table and instead of giving you a menu he pours tequila in your mouth.

There is a woman in San Francisco who charges $30k to name your baby.
She started at $100, but she was going to dinner with VCs and a friend told her to charge more and nobody blinked.
The Bay Area might be the best place in the world for this kind of business.

San Francisco is a cool place because the billionaires dress like they are homeless and the rich geniuses spend money like idiots.
I love it!
By the way - why stop at $30k? Why not $300k? $3M? If you’re a VC, you’ve pissed away a million dollars on worse investments..
My favorite parts of the article:
Her own name is completely generic (Taylor Humphrey)
If you buy the VIP package, it comes with a genealogist and a ‘brand consultant’
The website says “the only limit is your imagination!” – actually, if you’re paying someone $30,000 to name your baby, I’m pretty sure you’re severely limited by your imagination.

So teenagers reading is falling off a cliff.
Looks like the decline started in 2016. Hmm, I wonder what else happened in 2016…

#6 💎 Brought to you by Mercury
Everyone’s got startup opinions.
Twitter says VC’s are dead. Reddit says AI is killing jobs.
Mercury actually looked at the data.
They surveyed 1,500 startup founders to see what’s actually happening in 2025:
79% of AI adopters are hiring more (not less)
79% of early-stage businesses are increasing spend
87% of founders feel more confident about their business’s financial future vs. 2024
