šŸ’Ž  5 Tweet Tuesday šŸ’Ž

Out of 500M daily tweets, only 5 deserve your attention.

Hereā€™s this weekā€™s starting lineup:

Agreed. I used to work with Emmett Shear (founder of Twitch) and when an employee would come to him talking about a problem - and all the multi-step, ā€˜first-this-then-thatā€™ approaches - he would simply ask:

ā€œHave you tried solving the problem?ā€

Not only was it a 10/10 sick corporate burn, it had a lot of truth in it. Humans have a habit of avoiding just ā€˜doing the thingā€™ and will talk themselves into all kinds of smart sounding reasons why they need to do X first, before doing Y. (itā€™s all just fancy procrastination)

This is awesome - Iā€™d love to try this. You know how supercomputers learned to be the best chess player in the world simply by simulating 10 zillion games until it figured out the perfect strategy?

What if humans could do that too? Can we become 10X better at our job by learning through simulation (instead of books)?

Quarterbackā€™s will get great at reading the defense. Surgeons can practice surgeries 1000s of times without harming a patient. Soldiers simulating tactical missions without putting their lives at risk. ā† Iā€™m excited for these.

#3 šŸ’Ž

Iā€™m so back.

Being a bodybuilder doesnā€™t make you flexibleā€¦

Being a good cook doesnā€™t make you a healthy eaterā€¦

And being smart doesnā€™t make you happy.

Butā€¦ can you make yourself happier, the same way you can make yourself smarter (by studying)?

I think so.

For most people - happiness is an accident. Itā€™s a lucky result of good weather, good luck, or a good hair day. Things outside of your control.

But one of the best things in life is to learn how to exercise your ā€˜mood muscleā€™. To become happy-by-default. Thatā€™s when the fun begins.

P.S. ā€“

I dropped two banger podcast episodes this week. Pick one to watch and thank me later:

(real ones will watch both)
