šŸ’Ž  5 Tweet Tuesday šŸ’Ž

My favorite 5 tweets of the week. Let’s dive in:

#1 šŸ’Ž

One of my favorite stories is how Steve Martin (the comedian) learned the banjo:

  • Steve wants to play banjo

  • He tries, he sucks

  • Can’t tell a C-chord from a G-chord. No musical talent

  • Frustrated, he considers giving up

  • Then he reframes it

ā€œToday, I suck. Tomorrow, I’ll probably suck. But if I play the banjo for 40 years…I don’t think it’s possible for someone to suck at banjo if they play for 40 yearsā€

Less than 10 years later, he not only could play the banjo well, he won a Grammy.

Nobody is good at the start. Nobody is bad after 10,000 attempts.

Oh no I’m both 😭

#3 šŸ’Ž

Law #25 - ā€œRe-Create Yourselfā€ (48 Laws of Power)

ā€œAbandon your old habits and ambience that comes with it, and rebuild your new habits and new ambianceā€

#4 šŸ’Ž

Some people like long walks on the beach. I love a good bank heist (or prison break).

Here’s how they robbed the Louvre in broad daylight:

  • Museum opens at 9:30am

  • Gang of 3 pose as workers, wearing yellow vests

  • They use a tall ladder and crack open a window with a small chainsaw

  • Enter the museum, smashed the display and grabbed the jewels

  • Escaped on high-powered scooters (!!!)

  • The whole thing took ~7 mins

#6 šŸ’Ž Brought To You By Mercury

It’s easy to feel like the sky is falling (especially if you’re just going off headlines)

Mercury actually surveyed 1,500 founders to get a better picture of what’s going on in the startup scene.

Turns out:

  • 79% of AI adopters are hiring more (not less)

  • 79% of early-stage businesses are increasing spend

  • 87% of founders feel more confident about their business’s financial future vs. 2024

It’s a quick read, but a good signal check if you’re building right now.
