There was a fascinating study where they found people who had brain damage to the emotional center of their brain (the “vmPFC”).

They still had: 

• IQ in tact

• Memory in tact

• Could still make logical explanations

• But… they couldn’t make decisions

They were paralyzed - and had deep trouble making decisions, despite their logic being in tact.

Emotions drive decisions, much more so than logic.
