šŸ’Ž  5 Tweet Tuesday šŸ’Ž

My favorite 5 tweets of the week. Let’s dive in:

#1 šŸ’Ž

Quick story for you.

I once had the famous poker player Daniel Negreanu on the podcast. But the most interesting thing he said had nothing to do with poker.

He told me that many years ago, he went to a ā€œself-help seminarā€... he hated it, but stuck with it, and one thing transformed his life.

The seminar told the group: ā€œwrite down the worst thing that has happened to you recentlyā€.

He wrote down a story about the woman he was dating (and planning to marry) who had cheated on him. He found out while the engagement ring was in his pocket.

This is what they called the victim mindset:

  • ā€œThis happened to meā€

  • ā€œThis person wronged meā€

  • ā€œI got screwedā€

The victim mindset helps you get sympathy, but takes away your power.

Then they said –  ā€œnow re-write the story, but make yourself 100% responsibleā€. Not responsible for the event, but for your choices.

This is the responsible mindset. It stings initially, but gives you the power back.

OK back to the tweet. I love the simplicity of just looking at your current life, as an uncomfortable readout of who you’ve been.

#2 šŸ’Ž

If the goal is to have the experience, you can only lose by chickening out.

#3 šŸ’Ž

This dude built an entire podcast set that looks like you’re on Mars in order to convince Elon to do an interview with him.

I love it.

He flipped the odds from ā€œno chanceā€ Elon gives a random guy an interview to ā€œmost likely going to happenā€ – just by being bold, and doing something cool.

The field of dreams - ā€œif you build it, they will comeā€ approach is underrated.

#4 šŸ’Ž

In Silicon Valley there’s the idea of a ā€œ10x engineerā€. It means some engineers are not a little more productive (10%), but actually 10X more productive than an average engineer.

Well, I believe the same is true of coaches. A good coach is just a good coach. A great coach will change your life.

A simple life hack is to just have insanely high standards for who you pick as a coach. Test a few out. Drive a little further. Ask for recommendations. Don’t just settle for whoever’s nearby.

#6 šŸ’Ž Brought To You By… beehiiv

On My First Million, we break down fast-growing companies all the time.

You know what I've noticed? The winners ship fast.

And beehiiv does this better than almost any company I've studied. They ship new features every single week.

Most software companies move like molasses. You request something, they say "we'll add it to the roadmap," and then nothing happens for 6 months.

beehiiv ships. Every. Week.

That's the kind of velocity I respect. It's how I ran Milk Road. And how we keep the content coming at you on MFM.

And I’m not the only one in awe. beehiiv is one of the most impressive growth stories in the creator economy right now. Everyone I know is launching on it. Codie Sanchez, Colin & Samir, Chris Koerner. You respect ā€˜em, they’re probably on beehiiv.

I saw the power of beehiiv’s growth, monetization, and design tools firsthand when I sold Milk Road for 7 figures after only 14 months. And beehiiv is only getting better. Fast.

If you're an MFM fan, you value speed. beehiiv is the only platform built to keep up with people like us.

Go to beehiiv.com/mfm and use code MFM30 for 30% off your first 3 months.
