Customers don't want "AI Agents" they want "magic virtual coworker called Bob who does 70% of your work for you, for $19 a month".

Rule #3 of marketing - don’t say what your product is, say what it does for the customer
Also, this guy’s name has so much potential. Drop the Jon and just go by “Yong Fook” and your net worth will quadruple in the next 24 months.

The tragedy of modern man is that he spends more time optimising what’s on his CV than his eulogy.

I (unfortunately) attended a funeral this weekend (rest in peace Rahul).
After hearing the eulogies, I drove home and thought about what I would want people to say at my funeral.
What I hope people say:
Truly a great dad to his kids
Someone who brought life into the room when he walks in (energy, laughter)
Someone who would go out of their way to make others feel good
I think I do the first two, but the third is only aspirational right now. So I’m going to make an effort to make it true.

Evan Williams has one of my favorite all-time quotes when it comes to building businesses:
“Take a human desire, preferably one that has been around for a really long time… identify that desire and use modern technology to take out steps.
That’s exactly what Mercury does. It takes one of the most basic human needs - managing money - and removes all the friction that’s been part of it for decades.
No more clunky interfaces. No more running to the bank for simple tasks. No more wasting time juggling a million tabs just to see the financial health of your company.
Mercury simplifies business banking by cutting out the unnecessary steps, so you can get back to running your business.
That’s why Mercury’s so great. And it’s already being used by 200,000 ambitious founders.
