💎  5 Tweet Tuesday 💎

My favorite 5 tweets of the week. Let’s dive in:

#1 💎

Accurate 😅

Btw - “Offsides” is a great term for daily callouts.

  • Husband left the toilet seat up? Offsides.

  • Someone reply ALL to an email? Offsides.

  • Kids ask for a snack 5 mins after dinner? Offsides, possible red card.

I feel attacked.

The new “going to the gym” is daily writing.

Back in the day 90%+ of the population worked manual labor on farms. We didn’t have “gyms” because everyone was breaking their back all day working.

Once we got machines, we needed a new way to keep our body in shape. Lifting heavy objects (3 sets of 10), voluntarily, at the gym.

The same thing is happening for writing. Everyone is outsourcing their thinking to AI.

The brain is a muscle, and it will atrophy if you don’t use it. Daily writing is the new weightlifting.

I’ll save you the click, here are the best answers from the replies:

  • Sid, founder of GitLab, spent millions to cure his own stage 4 cancer

  • Andrew Carnegie spent $50m+ to build 2,000+ libraries across the world

  • Elon putting ALL of his net worth into Tesla/SpaceX when both were on the verge of bankruptcy

And a personal favorite: 50 Cent buying-out the first 4 rows of Ja Rule’s concert and then leaving the seats empty to troll him.

#6 💎 Brought To You By Mercury

Here’s a dumb little dance I used to do at least once a week…

  • I look at our company finances

  • I want to know “how much cash do we actually have right now?”

  • I open the dashboard, click the (wrong) tab, click another tab, export a spreadsheet, squint at the spreadsheet, give up, then ask someone on Slack

(if you know, you know)

Now I just use Command. It’s a chat built right into my Mercury account — you tell it what you want, and it does it.

“Move $500 to savings every payday.” Done.

“How much runway do I have?” Boom, real number.

“Categorize these transactions and add the GL codes.” Easy.

It’s like being able to text with your bank. And because it lives inside Mercury, every answer comes from your live data, and it only does what your permissions already allow.

Visit mercury.com/command to learn more and apply online in minutes.
