💎 5 Tweet Tuesday 💎
My favorite 5 tweets of the week. Let’s dive in:
#1 💎
the goal of life is to be excited to go to work and excited to go home

Well said Josh Kushner, well said.

The Lyft CEO actually works as a Lyft driver every 6 weeks to make sure he really understands the business.
This should be standard in all companies, with few exceptions (I don't think airline CEOs need to fly passengers around lol).

I like it. I have a running list of these:
CEO of Airbnb lived in airbnbs only for a year, and rents out his own house on Airbnb (Brian Chesky)
CEO of Occulus would wear the VR headset for hours everyday, even on early prototypes that made him nauseous (Palmer Luckey)
CEO of Zappos worked customer service call center every year to stay close to customer issues (rip Tony Hsieh)
and I read every edition of 5 Tweet Tuesday twice to make sure every tweet is a banger

About a year ago, @blader came to @fdotinc and explained the secret to get a "hell yes" from investors instead of a no.
You need to engineer an emotional experience. Make investors feel these emotions in this order:
amusement -> curiosity -> surprise -> awe -> greed

This is a great framework for raising money (or really any sales process)
Humans make decisions from emotion. Fear, greed, envy, curiosity etc
We want to believe we make decisions from logic, but the logic comes after the decision is already made.
I used to teach a writing course and my slide said “emotions commit the crime, logic does the coverup”

Whoever designed this packaging deserves a raise.

P.S. - YOUR BOY (me) is gonna be speaking at a free 1-day online event called “Creator Business Summit”
Think of it like Coachella - but for content nerds.
If you want to create content and make money. I will tell you some things about that.
