Here’s this week’s starting lineup:

OK, this is good.

Wow. TIL (today I learned) that the average age of NASA’s mission control team during the Apollo era was 27.

A few quick takeaways:

  • In a very new industry, you have two choices:

    • young people with no experience

    • or old people with no experience

    • (might as well go young)

  • I think we dramatically underestimate what the smartest young people can do if they have 1-2 voices of wisdom in their ear

Evan Williams has one of my favorite all-time quotes when it comes to building businesses:

“Take a human desire, preferably one that has been around for a really long time… identify that desire and use modern technology to take out steps.”

- Evan Williams

That’s exactly what Mercury does. It takes one of the most basic human needs - managing money - and removes all the friction that’s been part of it for decades.

No more clunky interfaces. No more running to the bank for simple tasks. No more wasting time juggling a million tabs just to see the financial health of your company.

Mercury simplifies business banking** by cutting out the unnecessary steps, so you can get back to running your business.

That’s why Mercury’s so great. And it’s already being used by 200,000 ambitious founders.

**Mercury is a financial technology company, not a bank. Banking services provided by Choice Financial Group, Column N.A., and Evolve Bank & Trust®; Members FDIC.
