💎 5 Tweet Tuesday 💎
My favorite 5 tweets of the week. Let’s dive in:

Truett Hanes is in fact running Leadville in jeans.
I hope they’re good jeans.

I don’t run
I don’t care about people who run
And yet… I’m fascinated by this guy (Truett Hanes) who runs marathons in jeans.
I love it not because of the running, but because of the marketing. This is a perfect example of what Seth Godin called a ‘Purple Cow’.
If you see a cow on the side of the road, it’s forgettable.
But what if you saw a purple cow. WHAT?! You pull over, take pictures, and tell all your friends.
99% of companies are just cows in their marketing. Forgettable. This guy pulled a perfect purple cow. Running a marathon in under 3 hours wearing jeans.
Even though he’s not hte fastest runner - he gets more media coverage, sponsorships and attention than everyone else in the race (combined)
Find your purple cow.

correlation i have observed:
the most talented people i know (who also happen to be high agency) have the shittiest workflow organization
- no notion organization hell, usually messy apple notes and google docs
- regular users of pen and paper
- no superhuman or fancy email— Hardeep (@hardeep_gambhir)

I’ve noticed this as well. But I don’t think its because paper/pen are better than Notion.
My theory is that talented people have wised up and know the answer isn’t in the tools, gadgets and gear – so they don’t fuss with them too much. Just keep it simple.

Eight hours of sleep and a daily walk outside will solve as many of your problems as any guru or life coach.

8 hours of sleep, a daily walk outside, and reading this email every Tuesday. That’s all you need.

Let me tell you a little story.
A few years ago, I got deep into crypto. (Like waaay too deep).
So I said, “Screw it. I’m starting a newsletter.”
I saw my buddies build The Hustle and Morning Brew and sell for millions… so i thought, “how hard could it be”?
I launched Milk Road - a daily crypto newsletter. And it blew up.
Partly because the content was good
Partly because grown adults were obsessing over monkey JPEGs
Mostly because we sent it with beehiiv
Fast forward 14 months… Milk Road gets acquired. 7-figures.
And who do I thank? Not my Mom (sorry Mom).
I thank beehiiv. It’s the only platform I’d recommend if you want to grow, run, and monetize a newsletter - without duct-taping a bunch of apps together.
So if you’ve got something to say…
Go to beehiiv.com/mfm and use code MFM30 for 30% off your first 3 months.
